Familiar Faces

Miles apart—aging and evolving, Familiar Faces—stars I forgot to name welcome me with gentle gravity. Doubts retreat, anxieties weaken— shadows realizing they are only shadows. I could not imagine the warmth of human light, til I stood bravely in their spaces.

Hi Laura, this poem indicates kindness. I suppose as we gain experience in life we do start to understand others and different experiences more. The title and the way you write about make me think about walking in others' shoes in a very kind way. You're promoting empathy in a subtle and constructive light. Take care. Smiles!

Empathy… yes… thank you for the smiles.. this was a real moment for me among people I’ve known all my life. That meeting place where I was is now burned down by the California fires. The faces I will always cherish and remember <3
