Falling Stars

So many falling stars!
A meteor shower bursting
like a miniature firework,
Silvery sparkles diving down the sky,
There behind the northern star
Down to the hazy horizon
Far from the Centaurus constellation.
Sinking in oblivion.

My love urged me to make a wish.
Do falling stars grant any wish?
No reply. My love had wandered off.
Worried I felt the spontaneous gyrations of my heart.

I strayed in the dark park searching,
Hearing coyotes howl, owls hooting,
Mice scuttling in the under wood.
I hunted earnestly hoping to see her there.
But she had disappeared
As I looked up at the last falling star.

Wake up, man, love comes not from stars.
And yet it was such a lovely sight
That I was not ready to deny my dreams
no matter what anyone might think.
So I wished with all my heart.
Just one falling star might come true.
My love was waiting for me ardently.
See, she was behind a tree
Hiding from the falling stars.

Sometimes out of boredom and curiosity, God peeks at earth, and at that moment, some stars escape from God’s grip. Why take the chance not to wish upon a star? I felt emotional and engaged. Victor was this all just another dream, or did your wish come true.

Creative work about love and beauty. I have only seen two falling stars in my lifetime. I felt blessed that I had to change to see one and not die by the object falling on me. I enjoyed reading this one. Very creative work describing the picture. Thank you for sharing and for visiting my page. Sara

They say when you wish upon a star your dreams come true, if only they could. A beautiful poem Victor. We should be able to view a meteor shower after midnight tonight, I do hope to see it… Belle

Victor, you have a way with words that is both enchanting and seductive. Your subject of love amidst meteor showers is brought to life in almost every aspect. It is an extraordinary experience to view falling stars in the darkness, although it is more special to do it for the person you love the most in the world.

Ah, you make my heart feel every word penned, she is there behind a tree and up in heaven and all around you. She is there when you breathe, when you write, and when you long for her, Your Lily of beauty is waiting for you, in her wedding gown, smile my dear, for she doesn't like frowns, she loves you near or far, and I do too xo
