Fallen Smiles

Smiles of the happy people Lay twisted on the cold granite floor Walked over and lost in the cracks of the world Lingered in the categories of wasted lovers eyes Forgotten and placed aside Waiting for the willing Hoping for peace to capture the withered souls The giving sit idling by Filling the souls of the users Left like moths dancing with the warmth of the light of the world Snapped with confused reality They fall lifeless and drained Crushed and burned from lives misfortunes Gifts of coal lay tied with bows of sorrow Laid on caskets of tomorrows sunset walks Longing for someone to dance hand in hand Along the shores of new beginnings Where the tides wash away farewells And the shells sing new songs to the gentles ears Fading into a vision longed for And dreams hoped to not be forgotten...
