Written: September 4th, 2023 Fall Splendor Sponsored by: Tania Kitchin ______________________________________________________________ August walks out, ushering in a chilly decay. Buds on the shrubs started turning shades. Winds mock foliage as they swing and sway. Anyone who finds will feel ecstatic by serenades. Aestivating under a full moon, an inner tune swells. Fragrant leaves litter the aurous floor where one dwells. Night-flying fireflies escape being caught. Feel the splendor of nature without a squat. A breeze from the scarlet trees cools the night. Before winter frost, the chill brings delight. Crisp air, a yellow, crimson, and violet maze. Jade autumn foliage whispered winter glaze. Summer, now fading, begins to elapse. A telltale indicator of fall mishaps and haps. Dance to unheard carols; they flutter. Hypnotic motions beguile a splendid stutter.

Lasaad, congratulations for your win! Your last two lines sum up your beautiful interpretation of fall splendor as they literally dance off of the page creating an hypnotic aura for your poem! I am always struck by the way you use words to create a poetic atmosphere. Love the personification in the first lines. A simply delightful dance, my friend! Blessings!

The transition from summer to autumn is beautifully caught. The leaves turning colorful and the breeze shaking them and nature being titillated by the cool winds, fireflies escaping being caught.... all are invigorating and calming ! Simply lovely. I don't know how to juggle with words to create a magic effect as you do. But through simple words I express my deep appreciation for your skill.

Crisp air, a yellow, crimson, and violet maze. This one line alone describes Autumn. Your descriptive passages for the coming of Autumn are wonderful SP. A winner for sure.

Your first line captures nicely my feelings toward fall with the words "chilly decay". Fall is a beautiful season, well early fall, like before Halloween!
