Fall Spice
Red,orange, yellow descends to the earth below.
And the sky keeps glowing from blue to gold.
I'm walking on this brick road.
Through the trees that unfold their leafy tears.
Releasing with a sound that truly no one hears.
Sidewalks with crunchy skin.
Surrounds me outside and within.
Where have they been?
Pumpkin spice eyes help me realize a finish.
You're all done carving a face of your love into my heart.
What a work of art.
I really hope that it wasn't as hard as the wind blowing.
Like a pumpkin shell, empty me out.
Plant my soul like a seed into the ground.
Let it grow into a season of wonders.
All of them the shade of fathers, sons, brothers, daughters and mothers.
Bring them together like no other can.
Make enemies want to call each other friend.
There's nothing like the warm sugar and spice of life.
But if you don't know what it taste like, you'd better take a slice.
