Fall Fiesta

at summer’s end sunrays do linger lasting fragments worth clinging to days idle and atrophied as we wind down reflecting on waning summers the paths we chose inspired by our guides the seasons wane persistent aura last shades of summer glow sundown on our journey as time recedes the hush of nature at our feet lethargic afternoons treasured solitude across open fields our minds on pause before the setting sun feeling reclusive nurturing thoughts sheltered and secluded leisurely reclusive fortuitous and serendipitous withdrawn a gathering of minds pausing for reflection an invitation to dawdle enjoying last precious sunrays their dwindling magic while we ponder our good fortune by reverie or by design we hang on for dear life to every hope we cherish Published in my 24-page photo book ~FALL FIESTA~ 2019 AP: 3rd place 2020 Posted on July 20, 2019

Thanks, ML. Thoughts of autumn seem to do that.

You have spoken of all the wonders of nature that makes my heart sing the best. " the hush of nature at our feet lethargic afternoons treasured solitude" - lovely Line.

I am like David. Seems like summer is in it's glory. I don't want to see fall except for the welcomed cooler weather, where I live, trees do not go bare. We always have full trees which are a passion. Autumn rolls out the carpet for Christmas. Love that and Chanukah Your poem is both thoughtful and true. Panagiota Panagiota

Thanks you for your much appreciated visit and comment, Panagiota. Love both summer and fall. And if I had my way winter would last two weeks. LOL

Wonderful poem. But I would rather not think about fall just yet. It will come soon enough. Have a great night my friend.

I totally agree, David. I like to stretch this out as long as possible even though fall is my favorite season. Thanks for your much appreciated visit and comment.

Line, I like this poem. The last two lines "we hang on for dear life to every hope we cherish" are especially poignant, at least to me. -Richard
