Farewell summer we bid you goodbye As now chill of autumn begins to bite, Leaves turn yellow, gold and deep red Lovely vibrant colours adorn the trees. Deciduous trees finally lose their leaves Everywhere covered in a carpet of hues, Evergreens defy autumn and stay green, People go out walking to admire the view. Inspiring the poets who capture it in verse Not forgetting artists who paint its beauty, Time moves on as we near autumns end October the thirty first; its now Halloween. All the trick or treaters are out for some fun Under the moonlight they look quite scary, Trick or treat they say at everyone's door Using bags and pockets to carry their treats, Make their way home now it's getting late. Next day is November and winter creeps in. Written 28th September 2020. For Pick-A-Title, Vol 23 - Seasonal Acrostic - Poetry Contest Sponsored By Edward Ibeh.
