Fall Deep Into Autumn
Falling finger-painted fragile leaves,
are swirling, twirling and whirling;
like colorful broken stained glass,
leaf after leaf falling into beautiful decay.
Down the worn path they drift until,
every tomb is leave-strewn; in an
enchanting scene that is no longer somber, but
pleasant as a walk in the country.
Inspiration to this poet walking, as squirrels find
nuts and forage bedding for their tree nests; oh
today is September crisp and frosty, and sadly, a
overgrown bushes hide precious names engraved.
And I am lost in an ocean of rolling leaves,
until suddenly the wind stops; and
the clouds stop sailing across the sky,
until everything is draped in Autumn colors, and
millions of painted leaves like dreams lay in repose-
now, I find you and my tears flutter like the leaves
