Faithful Wounds
The last things you really want
are wounds that come from a friend
surely a friend would send comfort
but these wounds are sent to mend
For in hindsight, they are shown
to be what you particularly really need
as that friend knows what fits the remedy
to bind you up planting that required seed
When you receive affection and kisses
beware of the intention that they come from
it looks friendly but maybe from an enemy
who have planted a hidden smoking bomb
Keep clear of any potential enemies
look out for marks that show deceit
be grateful for that friend who's faithful
these wounds you be sure to greet
("Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.")
Proverbs 27:6
