Failure

Tomorrow has become today once more Another day has passed in loneliness Afraid to love, it's my fault I confess That feeling of rejection I deplore This emptiness inside I can't ignore The love which I now save but can't express Each time I try, it ends without success It seems my heart has a revolving door Although my time will soon come to an end To die alone would be a tragedy But looking back it seems my ship has sailed Without a passenger to call my friend Sad lonely poems will be my legacy To die a lonely death, means I have failed by Daniel Turner

You may use it but only if you put my name in the footnotes. After all it is my property. I'm sure you could write one better if you tried.

Good Morning Daniel. My goodness. How sad your words and thoughts are. I hope this is your skilled poetic talent speaking. I believe there is love for all. Rest easy however in knowing you have created a wonderful entry that gives thought. Well done entirely.

Dear Daniel, your poem is so full of sadness and yet great beauty that you should ban the idea of failure forever from your mind. When we go through difficult times it seems we'll never see the light at the ending of that proverbial tunnel, but life has ways to surprise you sometimes. I'm sending a big hug your way:) Amitiés

The sad blue flute from a lonely cloud bunch/After a long a time since we saw you/Makes us pensive while the nuts that we munch/Taste caustic and bland devoid of all hue/Nor do we know what has happened to you/Your sparkling poetry still invites us/May you come round and enlighten the dew/And let us convey you the seven plus ...

Hey Danny, you're breaking my heart. Of course you are loved. Just because you're alone doesn't mean no one loves you. I do my friend! You're always in my thoughts, and prayers... Big Hug :) Kina

Loneliness, is a terrible tragedy, there's no possible way you're a failure, your poetry defines you not some so called "success" in love. Singleness can also be a gift if we use it the right way, and you're on your way! Great to "see" you again Danny, I was worried about you!

Your words gently take the reader to a private place in your heart where your feelings have become melancholy with the approach of old age. Emile.

7/7 good write. I also know this feeling of being alone, but the thing for me is that the poems I write and the friends I make on here help numb that alittle. Im always here If you want to talk, or just to have a friend!! ^-^

Thank you :) Just be yourself. Old fashioned or not, staying true to ourselves is the most important thing you could ever do. There is someone for everyone but we never know when or who it shall be. The right person will love you for who you are. Don't lose hope and as long as you have love in your heart, you are never truly alone.

Thank you. Laken. I really do love that name. So uniquely beautiful. I think if I had someone to share my life with, I would live longer. This being alone is killing m, but on the other hand, I'm not sure I could get along with anyone. I'm just so old fashioned and set in my ways.

Physically, I am well. My mother is in really bad shape and that has really been bothering me. The realization that the finish line is close, has had me very depressed. It is so nice to be back among friends. I have missed you, Mrs Eve. Thank you for dropping by:)

A 7+ for this great sonnet--skillfully-written (as always) and SO MOVING, Daniel. I can relate--since everywhere I go I'm surrounded by couples in my age bracket (mid-sixties) who have been married for decades and are still happy together. I've been alone for decades. Enough of my pity party!Welcome back!! Janice

If we got together, we could really have a great pity party. I am my worst enemy. Thank you for the friendly visit. I know what you mean, seeing people walking and holding hands really makes me feel like a loser.

If a person can go their entire life without touching a human heart, cause someone to smile with joy, or plant a single seed of thought or pondering in another's mind, socially and maybe spiritually, he has failed. You, my friend have far surpassed such meager qualifiers. I am my own witness. Were it not for you, I would never have found the courage to change my life. If that makes you a failure, well, I sure am grateful for it! Perhaps pain has skewed your perspective my friend. Keep in touch.
