Fading Thoughts
Thoughts how they fade from ivory to grey,
as I lay on my bed and waste the day away.
Needing answers that life never reveals,
like why in the world didn’t you stay.
Whispering thoughts fade away every day.
Moments of clarity I long for with ease.
Remembering your smile in the cool breeze.
In the ebon night as I see your silhouette,
food for thought of things I shan’t forget.
Sometimes I live with thoughts of regret.
Notions of us always laughing and talking,
with our sweet dogs always walking.
Deep in reflection, an aria of rumination,
bestowing unto me a melancholic sensation.
I need answers…clarification with a revelation.
I have a lot to think about without restriction.
Pausing in prayer with truth and conviction.
Thought provoking inspiration in my mind,
as reasons why you left I try so hard to find.
You were mania and depression combined.
Spiritual apathy renowned and nourished,
thought provoking memories always flourished.
Intellectual reasoning as to why you died in vain,
now only those last moments of your life remain.
On my heart you left a crimson bloodstain.
So I hesitate and halt with food for thought-
I still search for answers…as death you sought.
