Fading Photographs

Fabulation is easier when details are missing Ardency of a moment becomes the narrative Deception of self, a pastime Inklings persist but are batted away Nothing need spoil a memory Gift of a rewrite to comfort in dim light Presence can alter perception Hardship up front and centre Oh how I long for an uncluttered moment To exist in it on repeat Onward too wearing right now Gravitate to a space to linger Reality doesn't knock at that door All needs are met Promises locked into the freeze frame forever How time passes afterwards is cruel Slowly stolen as life mimics art

Dear DD, I love this acrostic, and how youv written one with many lines that resonate too and are so deeply moving and soulful. I especially couldnt get over the lines “ Oh how I long for an uncluttered moment To exist in it on repeat “ those words resonate and hits home for me! So touching! Pleasure reading your take! Thank you for sharing! Congratulations on your win

A wonderfully expressed acrostic Dilly, filling in faded parts are easier and possibly distorted when the picture is faded, but all part of the longing for an uncluttered moment to last forever, all the more reason to make the most of them if/when they happen, another thought provoking piece from you, cheers David

I'm quite fond of acrostics, unusual words pop into my head. It's true, grabbing those moments when they occur is the best way.
