Faded Flowers

Faded Flowers Each flower dried and faded, sitting in their bowl Still a slight aroma, never eluded from their goal Pondering on their lifetime of giving us some joy Un-watered, have now lost their ability to be coy Yet each petal is still with me, held within its own With a faded parchment rose as it glory capstone Dust upon the window sill, the curtains still closed Never a thought given to the flowers left exposed In a hope that memories like the flowers, will fade Until all the emotions within me, have been played Of that day you left me never to return any more The faded flowers remain, that I’ve forever sworn Indiana Shaw . . . : (
