Fade To Drugs

Collaboration with Mitch Taylor written in 1984 when we were 12 Wherever you go, it’s all around. Money and drugs goin’ down. You see ‘em doin’ crack, sniffin’ cocaine And puttin’ that stuff in their vein. You don’t do drugs ‘cause you’re no fool, But those who do think their cool. Once in awhile, you’ll see a fight, Usually occurring late at night. Whoa! Back up, he’s got a gun. Go to the phone and dial 911. The cops come over right away. Looks like hell is here to stay. If you do drugs every day, It’s like slittin’ your throat with a razor blade. ‘Cause if you do drugs don’t you know, Keep it up and you won’t grow. Why don’t you do some good in your life, Like get a nine to five and a loving wife, Two kids and real nice car. Straighten up and you’ll go far Or on death row is where you’ll be. And why? Just ‘cause you didn’t listen to me.
