Facing World War Iii

Not so likely we’re facing World War III Of course, I could be wrong, wait and see, No one wins when a nuclear bomb flies Nobody gains! -- if the whole world dies. What good is all the money in the world -- Yachts, planes, luxury homes flags unfurled? If human beings cannot on the planet thrive In that case, I’d just as soon not be alive. It seems foolish to me to worry about a hit When I cannot do a solitary thing about it. So, I will continue to go about my affairs If a warning siren blasts, I’ll go downstairs Where for the duration I think I can subsist I know of nothing else to do except to exist.

Existence, ultimately, the most essential matter. Existence of one self and others. The war possibilities and their dangers are beautifully depicted. Congratulations!

According to the Japanese News, Putin is hiring mercenaries because Russian troops are not making sufficient progress in subduing Ukrainians. Imagine what Ukrainians could do if they had more than bottles to throw at Russian aircraft! But at least we know Putin does not have his finger on the Panic button at present! Aloha!

The Japanese News has reported Russian troops are loath to slaughter unarmed women and children . . . . .

I don't believe the Russian military has their heart in this assault. Just my opinion. I'd bet some people are already plotting how to get rid of Putin! Well, we can hope so.

You're right Milton, it's completely out of our hands, no point in worrying about it. Hopefully his own side will take him out for the good of all mankind. Tom

Tom, this is exactly how I feel. I think his own people are going to rise up and say, "Enough!" The oligarchs are already stirred up and some have voiced their opposition to the Ukranian situation. For the good of all humankind, Putin has to go!

Putin said the planet doesn't matter if Russia doesn't exist. This is really a troubling statement... Nice poem, my friend!

It is, indeed. Let's hope his Russia is not worth all of us dying for. Thanks, Marco.

Thank you, Bill. I know many folks are worried, but I like the kid from MAD magazine who said something like, "What, Me Worry?" This situation is completely beyond our control. Now, let's just hope it doesn't get out-of-control!

Can I do anything that we cannot control we might as well just sit down and enjoy life. Nicely done

I couldn't agree more, Eve. I can't get all worried about something I can do nothing about. If this is to be our fate, so be it.

Yup, Matthew 6:26-34 is a good place to park for those who get overly concerned about things beyond their control - good one, Milt!
