Facing the Storm
Had my ego shorn and heart torn today
The reason, I am hesitant to say
I'll retain it to myself, no one else
But then, who on earth would care anyway.

On reflection someone out there does care
All one needs do is kneel down in prayer
Revealing one's heart, though the tears may start
To God who’s always aware of despair.

God helps to put things into perceptive
Auto rectified are inner conflicts 
You, me and us - all we need is God's love
To sooth, reassure, fortify and fix.

So after nursing my bruised shorn ego
I silently made contact with the Lord
Prayed for the light to shine brightly tonight
My ego transcended, my heart it soared.

With heart intact, ego restored, reborn
I have will to weather the fiercest storm.

WOW. this here is just what i needed to read and it is right on time. its crazy how we feel sometimes that no one cares, when in all reality, people do care. you are right though, God cares more than we will ever understand. i look forward to reading more of your pieces . i must say, i am impressed as well. you have alot of work on here. if you dont mind, can i ask you how long you have been writting and what inspired you to start writting...

thank you for sharing that. amazing 60 years of poetry. the things you seen and experienced. i think it's cool you still have that book. have you ever shared any of that. I'm sure that teacher somehow knew that she was an inspiration to you.

Thank you Sally. I started to write poetry when I was 14 years old, that’s 60 years ago. A teacher at school got us pupils in her class to write an anthology of verse. I enjoyed the project so much, I still have the book of poems I wrote and have written poetry ever since. I often wish I could tell that teacher how she inspired my love of poetry… Belle

Once we know that God is there to hear all our sighs and feel all our pain, kneel down in prayer before Him ! He will ease all our heart aches . A beautiful poem dear Belle, highlighting the need to rely on God

Thank you so much dear Jennifer, my husband has gone back into hospital today, he became very ill during the night and has got an infection. I hope and pray it’s not as serious as it was when he had sepsis he was recovering nicely and now this. Hugs and blessings… Belle
