Notes About The Poem

Sept. 28- 2026

Facelift

After coloring her head with dye
She leaves her damp hair open to dry
Thus, her age, she conceals.
She tries all sorts of styles
On her lips, thick gloss, she does apply.

All wrinkles, she cleverly conceals
With makeup all cuts and scars, she seals
Puts rouge on her aging face
Thinks she’s a lady of grace.
Walks a showpiece on stiletto heels

With a focus on vanity and aging, the poem paints a vivid picture of someone trying to capture their youth. It effectively uses imagery and rhyme to explore deeper emotional layers, well-composed.

Good one, Valsa. She looks really nice for a woman of her age. I am surprised that the lady walks so jauntily with them on. I got a nice chuckle from the picture and the picture you described. Sara K. 👏✍️

:)) Nicely said; Valsa; as for myself, the less makeup the better. I really prefer natural; mature faces can be quite beautiful, with only a lightly applied heart base.

I can just picture this kind of woman. It's going a bit far when they put on stilettos at that age. She's gonna get her back out of whack. Haha. Cute limerick, Valsa

I know people who dress like this, but if it suits them, that's fine. Good work!
