Eyes of Yesterday
You think you know me,
you've loved me for so long.
But you don't know me
as I am today.
When you first loved me,
you watched me
and learned what I did;
you listened to me
and learned what I thought;
and you came to know me.
You forgot, though,
that I kept doing
and I kept thinking,
and today, I'm different
with new parts of me
waiting for you to discover.
I know you love me still,
but you don't know me
as I am today
because you see me
with eyes of yesterday.
