Eyes of the Beholders

moon peers from heaven
shrouds of light clouds obscure not
                                          his curious view

                                          romantic couple
                                 strolling along moonlit path
                                    love's peace enshrouded

                                       cautious eyes uplift
                                 shadow darkens moonlit face
                                      bunny burrows deep

                                          precision vision
                                  owl in a moonbeam races
                                         dinner escaping

                                     couple's hushed visions
                               awed sighs beneath desert skies
                                      eyes beholding peace

Yes, your poem Nocturnal, coupled with this, exactly! You truly conveyed the other side of the night that I was grasping at in this poem! :)

Great stuff B J, it has a smooth tapestry If imagery and sensation..Haiku senryu Tanka, are syllabatically correct in 5 7 7 Format as well..I have done some like that I don't know why the 5 7 5 seems more favoured? Good to have been here.'

Thank you, Joe, so hopefully I labeled this correctly, it gets a bit confusing sometimes! Mostly, I am comfortable with rhythm and rhyme sorts of poems that come naturally to me, but it's fun to try different forms :)

I hope I did this form correctly, my daughter told me that several groupings of Haiku lines were a Choka, so I tried it. I can only hope I titled this form correctly. :)

You depict the nighttime in a sequence of illustrations. The owl was the last one left who hadn't eaten yet. Really adored all the little specifics you provided.

Thank you Sotto, hopefully he'll catch some delicious mice for his dinner, the desert is filled with much competition, the coyotes seem to be proliferating and seen all over, so, there seems to be less for owls, bobcats, mountain lions, etc to eat. The carnivores are now hunting closer to humans and pets, which shows natural food sources have become unbalanced...poor things! When we had a bunch of locusts come in, I saw coyotes trying to catch and eat them! But, despite the desert's competition and struggles, the sweethearts saw only beauty and peace. Thank you for your visit, I hope you are well :)

<3 It can be so romantic out in the desert, under star swept skies and the moon peering through the clouds. The desert is alive with so much life, but for romantic lovers, the awestruck beauty is all they can see :) <3 Thank you for your visit and comment sweet friend, I will be back over soon to catch up on all I've missed while I was away from here for the past few weeks <3

Oh, yes, it never gets old, ever! It is a wonderous feeling to be out under the stars, and moon. We have an owl living nearby, he is always looking for a midnight snack, but, such a majestic creature :) I know you'll be heading to the southwest soon, I hope you have a wonderful stay :) <3

Yes, poor owl, but I'd rather he catch a rattlesnake or a field mouse and leave the sweet bunnies alone :) I really enjoy reading your poetry Victor, as well as your visits and uplifting comments to my poems. I'm glad you liked this Choka; I enjoyed writing it. :)
