Eye of the Storm
By Dawne Zacharias
In the eye of the storm
Quiet deafens the space
Tranquility's voice amid
destruction all over the place
Our roof and shingles ripped
then dashed to the ground
For a moment it is quiet,
not even a sound
The promise of storm's return
will soon come to pass......
I feel my body shudder
within lightning's dread
I watch pink clouds swirling
randomly overhead
cold wind brings the shivers,
rain runs down my face
Lightning strikes a thunder,
I seek shelter from its embrace
March does bring its divergence,
her footprints can combine
She will bring the mornings sunshine
Floral scents to intertwine.
