If the eye be window of the soul How would such vision make one whole For there are shadows in the mix That alter time and play their tricks For dawn can break and fog deny Our vision of the sunlight sky Moving through our memory In slightly blighted symmetry Perhaps the eye within the eye Watches as the lies pass by Knowing that true vision’s sight Favors neither day or night Knows the truth of both their lies Resides within the heaven’s guise
