Eye of the Eye
‘me’ is a visual concept of existence
perceived by the organs of sight,
relaying images for others to perceive,
but the ‘I’ exists in silence, deep within.
‘me’ goes about defining itself each day,
walking the mires of social living, in a
world increasingly hostile to the body
and mind. gathering items and symbols
that it wears to adorn itself. attire, titles,
status, wealth and tools to pay societal dues,
the ‘I’ within remains untainted, for it is
not of society, nor deeds of material fulfillments.
It is a purity of that eternal reality without a name.
it cannot be altered. it is the seat of perfection
that some call the conscience, that acts as a
measure of standards.
there is never a dialogue between the ‘me’
and the ‘I’, but an unsaid communication that
creates the concept of morals, the right and the
wrong. in the long journey of existence the purpose is to bring the ‘me’ as close to the ‘I’ as is possible. through searching, questioning and breaking away from deceitful choices of life
if and when the ‘me’ aligns with the ‘I’ there
is bliss of self realisation, the total peace.
‘me’ has shed its garments, symbols and tokens,
the ‘I’ and ‘me’ merge into one stream of flow,
nothing affects the self, not events, no gain, no loss.
no possessions, no strife- just the lightness of
bright being that becomes one with that unseen perfection and purity….
some seekers call God.
