Extinct Species of Compassion
he fiercely champions animal rights,
and weeps over newts, toads floating
dead in oil slicks, gruesome sights;
at night he tosses in bed over the fate
of endangered non-human species
for whose protection he's an advocate;
but in the bomber's cockpit he's cool,
unleashing death-missiles on towns,
on his face the smirk and grin of a fool;
he calmly decimates an entire population,
just a war mission without compassion,
but grieves over a crocodile's extinction !
