Extinct Species of Compassion

he fiercely champions animal rights, and weeps over newts, toads floating dead in oil slicks, gruesome sights; at night he tosses in bed over the fate of endangered non-human species for whose protection he's an advocate; but in the bomber's cockpit he's cool, unleashing death-missiles on towns, on his face the smirk and grin of a fool; he calmly decimates an entire population, just a war mission without compassion, but grieves over a crocodile's extinction !
