Exploring New Worlds
As the ocean reaches out its hand
Wind circulates its natural fan
Greeting the water’s kind gesture
A sandy shore with much need for an investor
Out in the distance there was a visual show
Dialogue could be heard ‘land ho’
Planting a flag was a must
On the enchanted discovery needing to learn trust
Fertile soil looking to be raided
Instead trinkets were traded
Calling themselves explorers
Not thinking about confrontation where they would turn into warriors
Such a new world
Beautiful and innocent girl
These visitors decided to take some time
Pull out the wine
And dine
Enjoying the stay
While getting their way
Centuries passed
This young lady grew up really fast
One island to the north
Found some worth
Turned into a city
While coastal areas using recreation to stay pretty
National and state parks were ordered
Due to safety and preservation was reported
Beauty is there
To be shared
If anyone really cares
European curiosity made the find
And built a modern civilization which shines
Portions have been in decline
Self-destruction and daily grind
Could be to blame
Blowing out the eye sores flame
Those who came from the boats
Hopefully were not here to insult
Just individuals searching for a place
Needing a survival base
As we forge on to the unknown
Testing the boundaries presenting a humble tone
Will there be a non-human scare
In the galactic air
Or will the clouds make peace with the sun
Shaking hands when the day is done
Knowing they light up our global space
Leaving a smile on the moon’s face
