Exodus

Why's everyone leaving
  Where they all going
  O.K - too much crime in the summer
    but not so bad when it's snowing

  What else is wrong with Chicago
  What should we fix first
  The schools that don't teach
  or the new mayor who would reach
      in our pockets
      for $800m 
      in NEW taxes ...

  ...Though no one asked me, I think we should fix
     all the best roads and their roads signs to read 
       'To Exit Chicago - Right This Way!' ~ a neat little trick

Another exodus, but the horrible thing is, when the darkness of violence steadly spreads like cancer, and quacks of those who have the power to cure the cancer just line pockets with greed...or whatever the heck is happening. Great write, as usual Gershon. I recall you wrote a poem once where some of us voted you would be mayor. Sounded fabulous. Stay safe dear friend! Gershon Wolf May 27, 2023 at 8:54 PM Yes. Yes! They almost never change their me first attitude, but moving is really hard at our ages and especially if your whole family lives where you do. At least you let that frustration out of your system with your poem. Hang in their. When the leaders of your people are passive, there is little hope. Write On my friend! Some say it is wonderful there others say its a swingers paradise lol. It is too bad these Leaders can't manage their crime and they tax you to death not contributing but living off the system. This is called Democratmunist(Comunist). lol. I feel your pain Gershon. We have much land up here in Upstate NY, but I am sure we are not to far away from how Chicago is, that is in NYC.Lol.
