Excuses Excuses

It wasn't my fault I didn't get it done
This has been a truly horrible day
I'm telling you it sure hasn't been fun.

Oh I tried my best to do it your way
The instructions got caught up in the wind
This has been a truly horrible day

Lost from the start, with nowhere to begin
My frustration makes a whole lot of sense
The instructions got caught up in the wind.

The next thing, I'm sitting on a fence
The white pickets ripped a hole my pants
My frustration makes a whole lot of sense

You're thinking this is, just a song and dance
It wasn't my fault I didn't get it done
The white pickets ripped a hole in my pants
I'm telling you it sure hasn't been fun

Painting fences, a trip to IKEA, all the same results for me! This made me smile!

oh, my, what an inventive way to do the Excuses contest. To weave it into a terzanelle. That takes skills!!! I hope I an think up something as clever myself for Susan's contest. You did great! It kind of made me think of the Tom Sawyer tale of him getting the other kids to paint his aunt Polly's white picket fence for him!

hey, I keep forgetting to ask you. When you said your comment to "watching innocence" became a poem. Did you mean that you wrote a poem based on a comment you said to me? If so, which poem is it that I can read? maybe you just meant your comment to me was poetic. I will have to peruse the comments on that poem to see if that is it!! Now let me read this one of yours.

Reading your tribute poem caused me to respond with the line that became the start to my poem.

As for me, not really into excuses, I find people who have a lot of the a pain in the behind. Thanks for commenting.
