Excavations - the Diagnosis

Second chance, I gave that to you You did not compensate You sing of penitence Yet would not cross the bridge of redemption So scarred through and through What did not understand Cannot penetrate Why am the focus of your vile obsession The object of your hate What tear in the fabric of your youth What cancer no love can heal Make you so distort the truth Make you so chameleon in steal I know you will not answer It would never come to you in prayer Your faith is built on faulty labor Wooing men to convince your heart Of heaven. Do they see yet, Can they understand The wounds you bind with tears wet Is caused by your covert hand What guile upon a gullible stage What pretensive innocence before my rage What jealous spitefulness What pathological competitiveness What metal twist of soul I cannot understand But somewhere in childhood's cavern I know the demon rest.

A very poignant piece you have penned here L'nass. The demons of childhood/young adulthood affect every aspect of who we were as children and who we are as adults...especially if the trust issue's have been violated. Powerful message conveyed and I am sure many people will be able to relate on some level...thanks so much for sharing. Many thanks too for taking the time to read my writes. Your always kind comments are much appreciated. Have a blessed day~Mary

Things that happen in our childhood does effect our relationship with others. This is a good topic on which to write a poem. Keep the magical and creative pen flowing. Sara
