Every Now and Then
I love my children dearly,
And I am blessed so surely,
With memories of them for eternity.
But every now and then,
I wish they would let me use my own pen,
For adventures to plan,
Without them seeing the need for use of a different pen,
Full of ink and wisdom that is still young to upset my plan.
I Love my children dearly,
But I see the need for distance more clearly,
With wisdom that increases yearly.
I love my children dearly,
But every now and then,
I wish wisdom would override their plan,
And encourage them too borrow my pen,
Every now and then.
