Everlasting
The flashing lights inside my head,
Storms and thunder won't let me rest.
Holding on as tight as I can,
Self-control escaping me again.
Pulled by time. Sudden - yet slow,
Still not ready to let my fears go.
Wearing out, weathering over the years,
Can't be disheartened, wipe away the tears.
Thick, gloomy clouds intruding my view,
"You're so sensitive." So says you.
Can't change what happened in the past,
The lessons I learnt. Nothing will last.
Sometimes I wish someone looked over me,
Guidance and help. Together and free.
My mind is still encaged. Locked up tight,
No one will know my former hurdle heights.
All the bullying, worse than it seems,
Everlasting scars, not just deathly gleams.
The names, the acts. Dirty tricks played,
The "jokes" told. Bliss beginning to fade.
