Evensong of Hope

                               Evensong of Hope

We all hope for freedom from pain.
Or..that our sadness will go away.
Or, please God, let my dear lover, stay.
In dry spells, most citizens hope for rain.

As poets, we hope to create beauty.
To move and melt other fellow souls.
                     Glistening like bright amber coals….
Writing, indeed, ‘tis our spiritual duty!

We hope we one day get a POTD.
I declare, one for you and one for me!
We can sip tea, then, under my orange tree.
And may courage, always come to us easily.

Be your genuine self here, no matter what.
Impressive poems, do impact me not.
Make other poet souls, come alive, not rot!
Freshly scented, breezy, as sliced coconut.

Hi Gordon. No, that is not me! But I chose that because that is very close to how I looked as a young debutante. A glorious evening….one never forgets!viennese waltzes. Men in tails with white gloves, who were fathers or escorts. I shan’t be shy. That is some excellent writing! And the idea to go through life being genuine is a must! No filter on the mouth NOR the pen! But to attack a Poet viciously in open post? Shows a deep Blackness of soul. The same as Hitler. I am a grandmother now. And most years of my life are behind me. That’s OK, Gordon …. I grew up when people had class, taste, morals,, loved God. There was no violence or murder of millions of innocent unborn. So you see,I do tell the truth..it’s my pride and moniker. Huggs, Pangie

We all strive to create words of beauty, sometimes they slip away from us, but may our courage return to try again~

Clearly,Michelle, I can relate to this slippage! It does take courage and alacrity to start again, even though it seems impossible. Wonderful seeing you. Huggs, Pangie

Hello Panagiota, yes a poet should be themselves. They should create their own poetry. Let the pen flow onto the empty page. Hugs xxx

Hey there, Bob! It was just my point of view. All poets are different.I do get what you said, but good to let others have their own space, don’t you agree? Nice seeing you, faithful friend! Huggs, Pangie

For sure; encourage others to be their spiritual, physical best. "Be your genuine self here, no matter what." The deeper self and not the surface self...then one cannot go wrong~ POTD by God. Excellent read.

It’s easy to throw words on paper., write short only? As if life was simplistic. Far from it.or, to write nothing burgers? We are deep folks~ who feel and think that way. If people do not like us? Hard cheese, as they say! Cool..POTD, by God. We forget writing is a gift! Huggs, Pangie

Ah, dear lady, Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship", his poeima, his poem! And so every day is a POTD, to try to reflect his glory, our smears rubbed clean. Have a blessed day!

Jeff,! What a magnificent comment, my man! Wow! I Love your spiritual attitude! It reflects humility and gratitude! Others may not feel as you do, hence, the poem.a poem to make us think! People are new here, and some just learning to fly! A very nature, godly outlook. Thank you, Huggs, Pangie
