Ethereal Lanterns

On the blessed days, light travels through the senses A flotilla of flames floats on the river of each vein Touching the soul with its infinite union Shining with opulence through generations Verse by poet The heavens surveyed the scenes in all its splendour As lights aura draped in her crotched shawls Blew life into each fledging spark ‘Til each lantern became the suns protege And the extended eyes of internal light Despite troubles and strife The spirit of beings held on to their radiance Following its lustre, through the tunnel of life Many sacrificed - the giving of self And passed their light to those denied Along cobbled streets there were babes in arms Feeding bottles became beacons of peace Touched by a glow, some laid down their arms Surrounded by the shield of candlelight Teachers taught to dazzle young minds In the spirit of love and respect By the shores, people sat and drank tea Sprinkled with the sweetness of community People gathered to count their blessings And hearts became chandeliers to hold each one Many gazed up in awe to a night lit sky Engulfed by a symphony of orchestral splendour And when the flames subside to its place of rest Lights aura will gather the lanterns until the next breath calls

Dear wj clarke, this is brilliant, your use of alliterations, and how youv painted imagery along with the flow of your words is truly captivating and fitting for the prompt theme. I love how youv written especially “ Til each lantern became the suns protege And the extended eyes of internal light” magical and so ethereal! “ People gathered to count their blessings And hearts became chandeliers to hold each one“ exquisite! And so touching! Very well crafted! Pleasure reading this. Congratulations
