Eternal Star

Cool breeze in the summer air Rustled the leaves of the trees. We walked in the woods Talking like every other night, But this was a special night. Pulling her close to keep her warm, We walked to our special place... A place surrounded by trees that sang And diamonds that gleamed from the heavens. A place that will forever live in my heart. In the ring of trees and before the diamonds above, I dropped to a knee, while holding her hand And before her eyes... I held out to her a star. Tears fell from her eyes as she brought her lips to mine. A kiss so perfect it will last forever... like lovers' last kiss. Holding hands, we were dashing though the woods, Excited to get home and share our joy with our families. Through the woods and down the embankment, I tripped and lost her hand... She tripped and a car stole her life.
