_______________________________________________________________________

There are things about me which are unknown by many of the people that I know. Memories I treasure are etched in stone. These gems stored in my brain still brightly glow. My days of youth and sunshine so divine are padparadscha sapphires, with a hue beyond compare. In orange-pink they shine along with turquoise varying in blue. In ebony, nights of romance are etched inside my mind, forever to live on. I wish that one night longer had been stretched into citrine or heliodor dawn. Each happy ruby red or diamond day I've lived since then cannot be whisked away.

Found one that I had not read. So colorful as well. Thanks for sharing it with us. If for a contest, it reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Sara K

Andrea, a lovely set of gems can last as do our memories. Memory is a very interesting topic. I think we are allowed to place the stone in a different setting or look at it from a different angle when we look back. It's all really so fascinating. I'm thinking about gemstones differently now after reading this. This poem has a great deal of power behind it. Thanks and Smiles!!

Right when I think I'm on the "Write" path to poetry (meaning, my own), I come across another one of your grand master sonnets and am humbled at your grasp of poetic excellence. My hats off to you, as always, Andrea. Write on, Terrell / PS: Love the opening stanza!
