Envy
Green.
It's not natural - nature's beautiful and free.
This colour, it confines me.
A steel cage bound in barbed wire.
Every escape route, a torturous invitation.
It controls me, possesses me.
My decisions and actions no longer my own.
No, not natural - artificial.
Made by man, by their mistakes.
So deadly ... Poisonous.
It dances; smiriking, mocking.
It glides, ripping my wounds.
Not natural, but still fresh.
The pain doubles and red seeps into green.
It injects it's fury, it's anger.
An explosive concoction.
It's subtle, hiding itself from view.
It sits ... no, it stalks.
This colour can not stay still,
never stopping its destructive path.
But it's too late, we're always too late.
Envy has pounced.
