Emotions Great and Small
All things felt, both sharp and sweet,
All creatures with their varying beat,
All moments dark or filled with light,
The Lord God made them all aright.
The joy that springs at morning's birth,
The echoing peals of carefree mirth,
The heart's delight, a bubbling glee,
This is willed by the Almighty.
The sorrow deep, a tear that falls,
The heavy heart that grief enthralls,
The spirit's plight, the quiet ache,
For us the plea we have to make.
The fiery blaze of righteous ire,
The sudden flash of quick desire,
The burning blight, the simmering rage,
Heaven wants to send a message.
The tender touch of gentle love,
A blessing sent from realms above,
The warmth that makes the soul so whole,
Where the spirit plays perfect role.
The chilling grip of sudden fear,
When shadows loom and dangers near,
The racing pulse in night so dark,
Firm faith and trust do make their mark.
The calm that settles, soft and deep,
When worries fade and spirits sleep,
The peaceful rest at close of day,
Because the Lord God shows the way.
From soaring highs to valleys low,
The seeds of feeling that we sow,
Each shade of soul, both white and dim,
These emotions are made by Him.
