Emotion

Emotion runs high in distress.
Decisions are hard to address.
The heart tries hard to suppress,
the head that knows what is best.

Emotion quickly turns to grief,
and then you do feel like a thief;
in fact it feels like disbelief
when you know that it’s, a relief.

As time is put into motion;
the needle holds deadly potion,
to end a life full of devotion,
no wonder we feel such emotion.

Unique haunting yet melodic write. The last few lines are telling of tragedy!

Emotions are part of us but left uncontrolled they can become us. They can control our cognitive processes and sometimes be destructive. I read your poem a few times Lindsay and enjoyed doing so. Cheers - Gary

Hello Rose ... I wrote this poem after we had to have our little dog put down after sixteen years. That emotion was sadness but to watch him suffer was emotional pain - thank you Rose - Lindsay

Without emotions life wouldn't hold much for us. God Himself has emotions. The Bible tells us that Jesus wept and laughed and even knew great anger. We learn through our emotions to feel for others as much as ourselves and we have to learn to temper our emotions so we don't do something we later regret. Good writing my friend. God Bless, JB

As we all "feel" imagined things, e.g., in dreams and day dreams, will we "feel" the worms crawling in and out when we are six-feet under Down Under?

I think we learn through emotions and feelings. I see them as valves within our mind and body sometimes they can be regulated other times they cannot be. Emilia : )
