Embrace Not the Blues of Yesterday - Chapter 3
Gloom was in the air
The blues was playing softly
You wept in despair
I whispered in your ears so humanely,
“Don’t cry;
I’m here to hold you through the night…
Don’t worry…why worry? Why?”
You just stared at me hopelessly and wept again
Your heart is pounding ardently and with fright
“What’s wrong?”
You answer, trying not to burst in tears:
“The song…
The song was on my boyfriend’s funeral…
And it drives me in tears…
Because I haven’t heard that song in many years”
I answer kindheartedly,
“I will make your cup overflow with cheers”
