Embers and Snowflakes

Snowflakes dangle and I am distraught, nothing on earth can ease my troubled mind- So hard I tried, so hard I fought, a kaleidoscope of woe and pain combined. For life's embers haven't been too kind. I linger in darkness devoid of light, in a cave where ivory snow can not find... anything that can bring joy to sight. Snowflakes fall and I am on my knees, there is nothing to save me from this- I beg of the Lord to save me please from this abhorred and complicated abyss. I crave happiness of laughter; one more kiss. When I awake and see a delicate snowflake, I wonder why it's the burning embers I miss... no more reasons to live, no chances to take. Snowflakes burn on my skin in the dawn, I can no longer speak of creation- I have fallen down deep, stumbled upon things that bring a longing sensation. I melt away leaving only condensation. Forgive me for being so tired, I have been craving such alleviation... as the snowflakes fall into the ember's fire. Embers and Snowflakes Contest December 28th, 2017
