The Georgia pines in embers stood
at the end of autumn's day
Hushed silence waited for the night
Noctural ones yawning lay
The embers slowly faded away
Pitch black engulfed the trees
A whip-poor-will began a song
The last to be believed
Coyotes tucked away inside
No yelps from their spring's born
Do they know winter's cold soon comes
If so are they forlorn?
Snug and warm inside their lined dens
Animals closely lay
Are their bellies full as the cattle's
Who inside barn stalls stay?
God takes care of the animals
He also cares for man
Man thinks he does it on his own
But without God he can't stand
