Elysian Custodian - Love Esoteric Hunt

Listen to poem:
Written: April 4th 2025, for contest sponsored by Brian Strand **************** April arises with a gentle promise crocuses awaken from their winter dormancy — while vibrant purples adorn the dawn nestled amidst luscious emerald she sparingly scatters her silk-like haze shades meld mellifluously across the valley a vibrant orchestra of motley blooms — heralding the spring dawn kernel of life intertwines amid abyss and symbiotic dreams — a flicker of hope often amorphous within our profound fears our impetus entails an egregious custodian who coxswains with elysian altruism — slight stingy to hunt love in an esoteric way while we earnestly long for her beyond the vast expanse our exuberant wooers set a strapping pace however, lurching sapidity may fail amid lambent blaze — phoenix rises on the ticking clock where harmony and love abound let us vanquish our fears even though our attempts may falter — amid the oncoming twilight a dove finds solace on the banks of time from which love and tranquility flow — like exquisite wine I witness a flock of birds soaring high only to vanish into the horizon flowers long for sunlight as daylight wanes, making way for night — the moon rises gracefully a seraphic presence offering a serenade lullaby— gather your stars from far-flung galaxies— come rescue us,” they plead voicing their hopes and love as the waves surge forward echoes emerge from beaches, “come rescue me.” countless voices meld together — and the sun reappears was it all in vain? will we find ourselves in cycle of gain? “Come and save me; set us free”

SP, this is cute and has me laughing at the end. Amazing really how we're willing to put our faith in a spirit and hope. Personally, I'm thinking we should take a good look around and do the best we can with what we have...of course at many times in my life, I've been told how I just don't see. I do believe we are all really very small indeed in this vast universe. Almost everyone tells me I'm wrong. If they do find solace, that's all good since it helps to go through life happy! Smiles!

There is such exquisite imagery and metaphoric allusions in this poem. Still it exudes a certain inquieted feeling that culminates in a profound query. A great contender for a win.
