Notes About The Poem

7/4/2024 for Picture Prompt Contest sponsored by Margarita Lillico

Election Year

When beasts that can do nothing but roar
Meet creatures that can only ignore,
They always reach an impasse,
A pain for tiger and ass -
I'm glad it's only one year in four.

Thanks Jan. I usually try to stay out of politics, keep my head low to avoid flying objects, but I'll start by saying that my vote goes to anyone running against Trump. Hmm, in my poem, I'd say Trump is the big, mouthed tiger, and Biden is the ass for not realizing he's too old to run for president.

Thanks Mark. I just modified it - realized my 3rd and 4th line weren't rhyming.
