written for the nursery rhyme contest sponsored by Eve Roper, 10 syllables per line, 12 lines. Written for the tea time picture of two girls, I see two girls from different races embracing their moment together, beyond skin and name. How beautiful the world would be, if love and kindness comes freely without stereotypes etc. I wish many more will encourage their children to spread kindness and accept each other with love and kindness. And not for color of ones skin!

As the sun filled the saffron skies with light, Ebony and Ivory sparkled bright, celebrating love beyond skin and name; they knew not society's evil game, sipping tea from a cup of compassion, dressed in empathy and primrose passion. They seized their moment in soft herbs of spring, letting kind flavors of true friendship bring~ reasons to the table, as stars admire, how their selfless affection does inspire, the world to embrace sweet dreams, that glitter~ to dissolve beliefs that taste so bitter.

Dear Empress. what an inspiring poem you wrote. It is a lesson that should apply to all. My nursery rhyme arrived too late. But there is not much depth to it like yours. Great poem.

Dear Empress, This very much reminds me of a song with the same title by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. I believe what I really found interesting is that you beautifully illustrate the power of love and friendship to transcend societal barriers and prejudices we all hold. It is imperative to show the importance of compassion and empathy. Just be genuine! I loved the idea of "sipping tea from a cup of compassion" and garnering understanding and acceptance. Empress you have inspired me to reflect on how our individual acts of kindness can contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate world. So full of compassion and grace! Faving this one, - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

I see you're making a real effort to scale down and your efforts shine. I too thought of the song Ebony and Ivory when I saw the photo. Gosh Inky, the world is so divided. Hatred and bias over petty differences. I like the line from a John Denver song, "For the children and the flowers are my sister's and my brothers, their laughter and their loveliness can clear a cloudy day, and the song that I am singing is a prayer to nonbelievers, come and stand beside us, we can find a better way."

Ahh tomsz, i do not try to tone down but theres not much i can write when restricted with syllables and mainstream rhymes as well as in just 12 lines. Hah you really understand what tried conveying here. And i have heard about ebony and ivory song bur never listened to it. I wanted to name it ruby and emerald but then, not many will understand what i mean. So went with the cliche ebony and ivory ahah. Thank you for singing thia beautiful prayer, hoping for unity and harmony. Appreciate always your support.

Aww such a lovely message in your nursery rhymes, we should all learn to play together, despite the colour of our skin and out background.. A lovely nursery rhyme, a bit like my chocolate bunny one that helped all the bunnies get on... It flows well and some nice word choices here.. Best of luck in the contest..
