Early Obituary

When my hand lets loose the pen
Lamp-less face I such parting darkness --
Preordained that Passing-night! God’s plan
So decrees, we all come home His timing~
Naughty wanderers, reclaimed beloved strays.

Then you must write for me, dear brothers
And sisters – that which yet need better said
And would I were it not for parting bed,
My throbbing head, blessed pillow of down
Such inevitable sleep no point longer fighting --

I hear the angels, sniff the starry-seas;
Hearken to the oars of Eternal ferry. Be not sad,
But glad for me. We will meet again, somewhere
Beyond the known dippers, to sail fondly further as
Blithering Gilligans and Compassless Skippers.

(No, I am not ill, that I am aware of. Just thought I would get this out of the way while still well and able:))

You have been a dear and close friend of mine. If something happens to you, certainly I will miss you. But who knows if you or I will go first! It is all decreed from above. As long as alive and can move your hands and if your brain can think, keep writing. Wish you health and happiness.

Thank you, Valsa; I share your fond sentiments. Who knows when and where? -- Most of us don't have an inkling. I just figured I would write my obituary while able to do the work healthy justice:)) Thank you, my friend. As Spock would say, "Long Life And Prosper!" Blessings.

I'm looking forward to it. the one thing we'll lose is fear. the cause of negativity. But the gains are much also. I look forward to it.

I dont know why im sad after reading this dear Joe, if ever tomorrow we are not here , our words, poetry will remain as souvenirs of what our heart felt: especially by poets like you! Youv expressed so well and also the rhythm and cadence of this poem is quite profound! Its like reading one of those archaic writes that are beyond impeccable! Impressive yet made me sad! I hope and pray you can bless our pages with your poetry for very long! Sending you light always

Thank you, Empress. "Poetry will remain as souvenirs of what our hearts felt" -- Love that comment!! Please publish that in your quotes section. Too precious not to be highlighted wherever else possible! One can write an entire poem around that wonderful observation. The stimulated minds and hearts of poets are laser beams for awesome ignition --

Very interesting, Joe. But why the Gilligan Island references? Well it sure have a light ending to your well crafted poem!

Thank you, Andrea; I guess it just means that, we know nothing. Only think we know. Hey, what's up with these hits. Why so many for this work? Program Glitch or something?

It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Hope I got a smile out of you also. What the heck. It's a part of life. Thank you, Sara.
