A monoku is a one-line haiku that often carries dual or layered meanings, especially in spiritual or reflective poetry. For example, “awakened” in this monoku isn’t only about waking up, but it can be interpreted as the piercing moment of realization: “I am not the body, I am not the mind - I am That.” It’s when the dew recognizes that it’s not just a drop, but of the ocean. This identification with the true Self is so luminous that for a brief window, everything you see reflects the Divine: the ocean in every drop. A period that often fades, as ego returns, but the memory remains.
