Each and Every
"Fragments and crumbs of life, all the little pieces"
John Ruskin, 1853
Each microsecond makes a soul
formed piece by piece in the human mold,
a person soon for arms to hold,
a love that can’t be parted or sold.
We are tiny bits of one great whole
in a universe that’s precisely bold.
The crumbs in crusts will soon unfold
to make our lives a story told.
These minutes on this Earth we’ve stole.
Count seconds that are precious gold
or every footstep leading up to old,
the warm days that become the cold.
