Dubiety

He sat with his shoulder nudging hers. She languished in the warmth of the touch and the familiarity of their intimacy. She slurped the last of her coffee and marveled at the somber sound. Was this the goodbye she’d feared fueled by her own insecurity? He was master at inuendo and charm, which made her all the more wary. Fearful expectations…dismay.

Linda, this poem has a lot to offer those of us who will consider it. It's difficult to accept reality and even to live for the moment as a sincere individual. It's a tough lesson, and relationships (especially new ones when we're young) are fraught with expectations. Endings are really tough as I recall. Thanks for the message insights. Smiles!!

Observing life (people-watching, if you prefer) provides lots of fodder for writing. Yes, relationships are odd to me. "Be true to yourself" is best – youth do not always have the maturity to understand what that means. Thanks for all the smiles! :)

You've got flow, Miss Linda Alice. Woes of the doubting heart, it will consume --bff. Pleased to see you penning in the new year!

Hey! According to the Telenovelas I watch, it all depends on mind frame, temperament & culture! lol. ;)

Hey bff...is it only the young? Seems the elder are beyond that self-doubt, or should be. :) I am happy to be penning more than the last few months. The holidays were busy for me. :)
