drops and shakes
Rain begins like
glass, foreshadow
someone in the window
pane screech
like chalk,
leaves on the
sidewalk, her stepped
on, stepped through
poetry —
birdsong chérie
survival of femininity
even loose wing's
tree love kind —
she said
limbs without fingers
tear at the stitches
in my eyes —
clinging, wet
