THE TITLE OF POEM 'DRIVING HOME FOR CHISTMAS' IS FROM ONE OF MY FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONGS BY CHRIS REA. HE WAS RECENTLY TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER COLLAPSING ON STAGE:-(

bright gleaming cat's eyes glowing like a string of pearls guiding us at night Cat's eyes were created in 1934 by a British Inventor called Percy Shaw. 12/12/17

Wow, great song...love the raspiness in his voice. Always appreciate a unique sound. The kind of male singer whose voice have women sliding off their chairs. Your senryu however is the cake. Love it Jan. A Fav. Just put up a new piece myself. Not very fond of it though. Hoping for feedback.

I love the rawness of his voice and the song makes me smile I find it so jolly. I loved your poem no wonder if got POTD! I am sure we have all plagerised a few words but totally unintentionally especially when writing about nature and the seasons its difficult to find a new twist on a subject.:-( hugs jan xx

Thanks Connie, its one of my favourite Christmas songs it always makes me smile. I do hope the singer recovers I've not heard any news since he collapsed on stage (he had a stroke some time ago so it was wonderful to learn he was performing again and now he's been hit with ill health again) :-( hugs jan xx

I'm listening to Chris Rea as I write - he's new to me. Your senyru reminds me of our long trips across the West Texas desert at night in an old Model A with big headlights - a long, long time ago.

I remember the man's biggest hit from the seventies titled "Fool (if you think it's over)". Nice descriptiveness for very few words.
