Dreams of Spring
waning of blue sky,
as my eyes succumb to sleep —
awakened by dreams
the barenaked bark,
handsome in its lichen state —
soft are its feathers
the long limbs of oaks
stretch in coalescent prayers
and mystical hymns
in darkness of womb,
rosebuds like a babies fist —
the birthing of March
honeysuckle scent,
headily swoons in my bed,
leaving me breathless
the luminous moon,
barred owl’s snow-heart countenance
and my child-wide eyes
awaken the dawn —
potpourri of fairydust
clings to horizon
