oops, typed in wrong box. I wasn't being pedantic (or any other ocean) Jan , but as is often the case with different countries, things differ. A classic example is some Americans pronounce nuclear as 'new killer' which gives an extra syllable. I'd pronounce it as two, but online checkers give it three. I was just watching your back. And very nice it is too...... Viv xx

could you triple check the syllables for 'brilliant' -BOTH syllable checkers I used show 2 brill-iant - I don't want to fall at the first hurdle lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Mr Viv it looks like we say Brill i ant but the other way is brill yant and that is the way the syllable counter seems to work:-0 hugs Jan xx
